People don’t want to just surrender to wrinkles, double chins and age lines any more. Botox has become a household word and in 2003 alone over 2 million people underwent this procedure.
I wanted to do a little research about face-lift creams because so many middle age, and older clients have asked me about this. In my research, I came across Dr. Manoj Khanna a leading cosmetic surgeon in Kolkata. these are some of his findings. You can visit his site to see more of his work.
Many face-lift creams are marketed as non-invasive and less expensive alternatives to face-lift surgery and non-surgical techniques such as Botox, microdermabrasion, dermal fillers, and the like. Face lift cream products are often considered cosmetic solutions and act a bit like moisturizers. Be careful not to use products containing AHA (alpha hydroxy acids) which peel off the outer layer of the skin, and may produce long term damage.
The creams that the experts recommend contain a non-toxic “acetyl hexapeptide” also known as Argireline as their active ingredient and acts by reducing the amount of nervous stimulation in the face thus reducing wrinkles and lines. These creams, however, can be used once or twice a day, and are highly concentrated, so just use a small amount. The use of these creams leads to about 30% reduction of wrinkles over a 3 month period (according to the manufacturers) and should amount to about 10% of the actual cream.
Other ingredients to look for in these products are: glycol-ceramides, green tea extracts, hyaluronic acid, ginseng, purslane, wheat protein, rice protein, centella and a variety of others. One new product, M-tox uses nanosphere technology to create a time released microscopic capsule. Do your research.
